All Saints Teaching School Alliance is a collaboration between All Saints Teaching School, Exeter Diocese, University of St Mark and St John, Plymouth University and schools and academies from across Torbay and Devon. Our core values are Transformation and Collaboration and this drives how we work with our partners and alliance members.
Fundamental to our Teaching School Alliance is the development of high quality leadership at every level. Through the development of ‘Leaders of Learning’ in every classroom and sustainable leadership within and across schools, we will build a world class education system which transforms the lives of children.
Teaching Schools are central to the government’s drive to see schools taking responsibility for leading a self-improving and self-sustaining school system. Teaching School Alliances across the country are designated and funded to lead local and regional initiatives in teaching and learning. This will involve collaboration to identify and coordinate expertise from across their localities to deliver on the big six priorities for teaching schools, which are:
- School–led Initial Teacher Training
- Continuing Professional Development
- Schools Supporting Schools
- Identifying and Developing Leadership potential
- Specialist Leaders of Education
- Research and Development
All Saints Teaching School was born out of the shared vision of aspirational church school leaders and Exeter Diocese’s School Improvement Strategy. Collaboration and inclusivity is at the heart of our teaching school model. Our foundations, whilst being in the Church of England, are fully inclusive and we welcome all types and categories of schools to get involved.
Although Ilsham C of E Academy was assessed as the designated school for All Saints Teaching School a teaching school is not a physical place or school. We do not work independently, but as an alliance of Teaching Schools and aspirational partners from across the South West. Never before have there been such opportunities for schools to share practice, collaborate and develop a self-sustaining system to improve outcomes for all pupils.
There is no subscription fee to engage with All Saints Teaching School Alliance and we invite you to become involved, at any level. If you are seeking opportunities to collaborate with other schools; wish to take part in a particular activity or, if you wish to find out more, please get in contact.
