SLEs

The Specialist Leader in Education role was introduced to improve the quality of middle and senior leadership through school to school support and peer to peer learning.

Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) are outstanding teachers who have the skills to support school improvement through working with individuals or teams in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice looks like in their own area of expertise and they are skilled in helping other leaders achieve this – in their own context and school setting. SLEs can support the development of leadership capacity of others, using coaching or facilitation, which draws on their own knowledge and expertise.

Schools can engage an SLE to support a school improvement priority and to support the sustainable leadership of that area once the deployment has been completed. Schools can request a single day or a series of SLE days and each SLE has an area of expertise with a proven track record of school to school support and outstanding teaching.

All Saints Teaching School will manage the deployment with the school and SLE and each deployment will be based on a clearly defined Deployment Agreement with clear outcomes.

We have SLEs with expertise in a wide range of areas which include: EYFS, RE, Maths, English and SEN. Please see the SLE biographies for more information.
